If you are in year 7 to year 12, St James Youth invites you to join us this weekend:

Sun 16 Aug from 6:30pm-7:30pm via Zoom to our Online Youth Group. 

This week is themed as if we were attending a Film Premiere.  For an added sense of fun, we invite you to dress your best (or make use of the virtual background feature of zoom)!

Youth Ministry

We welcome the Youth Leaders for 2020 who will be assisting Red our Youth Ministry Coordinator. They will be commissioned at the Sunday evening Mass 5:00pm this weekend.

Youth Group has kicked off for 2020 and is open to those in Years 7-12. St James Youth

St James Youth is the Parish Youth Group for those in Years 7-12. The Youth Group started our school holiday program braving the weather and getting our hands (gloves) dirty to conduct a Clean Up Australia event along the stream next to Season Main Park in Tarneit, last Sat 29 June.

We then spent an afternoon with prayer surrounded by nature on Tues 02 July on an Adventure Hike at MacKenzie’s Flats at Lerderberg National Park. The rains over the weekend made the river crossings an adventure indeed!

This weekend the Youth are having a Laser Tag Overnight Lock-In at St James to unwind after the last few weeks of exams.

Youth Group meets weekly on Sundays during the Term (next one: Sun 21 July) at 4:50pm-8:00pm. If you are in Yr 7-12 and want to journey with other teens from our Parish in discovering the value of faith for regular teenagers, or want more information, contact Red the Youth Coordinator at [email protected] or on 0409 184 299 or just come and see the Youth Leaders before our weekly Youth Groups during Term.

St James Giving Tree

On behalf of St Vincent de Paul Society Hoppers Crossing North Conference we would like to sincerely thank the 30 Young Volunteers from the St James Youth Ministry. Their enthusiasm and teamwork efficiently sorted the donated items from the Parish and schools for the St Vinnies Christmas Hampers.  We would especially like to thank Austin Deppeler and Mario Peiris under the guidance of Red Lusterio for the organization of the permission from parents as well as coordinating the volunteers.

These hampers will be delivered by the end of the week by the members of St Vincent de Paul Society to families belonging in our Parish Boundaries including the families from our local schools e.g. St James, St Francis, St Clare’s and Thomas Carr College.

Any further donations under the St James Giving tree of non-perishable goods will now be shipped to the Philippines Mission by the MSSP.

St James Youth Ministry – Bunnings BBQ

Thank you to all the volunteers that helped the St James Youth Ministry in fundraising with a Bunnings BBQ on Sat 18 Nov. Thank you to all who supported them by buying a snag and drink.

$1691 was raised to support the work of the Youth Ministry in our Parish.

The Youth Ministry is for teens in Yr 7-12 and meet Sundays 6pm-9pm. If you would like more info about the Youth Ministry contact the Parish on 9748 6800.
