St James the Apostle Parish is committed to the care, wellbeing and protection of children, young people and people at risk in our community. We uphold that child protection and the dignity of every person is the responsibility of every adult.
This weekend, the Catholic Church in Australia marks Safeguarding Sunday, on which we pray for those who have been abused, their families and supporters. We recommit to practices that support survivors and make the Catholic Church and its ministries the safest possible place for children and people at risk.
Please check the Parish Website on https://www.stjamesapostlehcn.com.au to view the Parish’s policies and procedures regarding Safeguarding.
During this extended time of lockdowns and restrictions, we especially encourage all families to check in with their children and teenagers. Like all members of our community, it is important to recognise that we belong to a faith community that supports all of us.
St James Parish hosts a Youth Group for High School teenagers which are still meeting, via online platforms, during this time. If you would like details on connecting with St James Youth and other Yr 7s-12s, please contact our Youth Ministry Coordinator Red Lusterio on 0409 184 299 or email [email protected]
