First Eucharist Reflection

During August, many children received their First Eucharist at one of our 7 celebrations. Here is what one guest said of her experience:

Dear Mary and St James staff,

Congratulations on such a lovely First Holy Communion celebration on the weekend.

I attended the 3pm celebration where my niece Mary was one of the children presenting for Eucharist. (I’m aware that this was the third one for most of you on this day).

It is always a privilege to be able to share the Sacramental occasions with my family, and First Holy Communions always seem to have a very special mood about them.  The environment, the prayerfulness, the liturgy and of course the children themselves all came together to make this particular occasion a very memorable one.

I am well aware that none of this happens by accident and that a lot of people were involved in the preparation of each of these aspects, not the least of which is the preparation of the children themselves.  Thank you for your dedication to this very important part of their spiritual journey and for making this day such a beautiful experience.  I sincerely hope that each child and every family will cherish this memory throughout their lives.

My thanks also to Fr Jude, the Music, Liturgy and Environment ministries, and all who contributed to the success of this weekend.

May God continue to bless you and your work.

Kind regards,
