St James Parish Fete and Raffle

St James Parish Fete and Raffle

We can’t have our fete this year but we are still going to have our parish raffle that we normally have during October.

Our parish, like many people and businesses within our community, are suffering financially due to the pandemic. Without the fete as our major fundraiser, this year more so than ever before, we are calling on our parish community to get behind the raffle and make it a success. All money raised will go towards paying off the church extensions.

We are looking for people or businesses to donate a prize for the raffle. Prizes must be brand new items in original packaging or perhaps you can donate a voucher. If you or your business would like to donate a raffle prize please leave a message at the parish office or contact Kevin Lloyd directly on 0439 314 572.

St James Parish Fete

As you would be aware, the Fete this year, which would have been on this weekend, has been cancelled due to COVID19. We remember the Fete Committee and all who supported and assisted our fundraiser in the past and those who would have done so this year. If you wish to support the financial works of the Parish, please see details on Page 2 of the Parish bulletin. Please keep our community in your prayers.

With 3 months to go before the Fete was due to happen we have had to make the disappointing decision to cancel this year’s Fete. It has been an amazing effort to have a Fete every year for the last 20 years and we all should be very proud of this achievement. Thank you all for your untiring support.

We are deeply aware of the impact this decision has on the finances of the Parish, especially with the church extensions underway and we implore everyone that is normally so generous at the Fete to still support our Parish financially in other ways like buying tickets in the Feast Day Fridge Raffle. We look forward to next year when we can get together as a community for another Fete.

Come & celebrate community with us at our:

Parish Fete this coming Saturday 19 October, 10:00am—4:00pm

The Parish Fete is our major fundraiser and a great community day that relies on our parish members to support it in so many ways.

VOLUNTEERS – More volunteers are needed for setting up, helping at a stall, cooking or serving and packing up. This is an opportunity to help out your Parish and build community with others. If you can help, please complete the Volunteers Form available from the Church Narthex.

WRIST BANDS – Are on sale after all weekend Masses. The cost is $35 before the Fete (non-refundable) and $40 on the day of the Fete.  A wrist band gives you unlimited rides along with a sausage, a drink and a donut.

CAKE KITS—  Please pick up a cake kit from the Narthex if you are able to bake something for the cake stall.

2nd HAND ITEMS – Books, toys and items for the white elephant stall can be dropped off on the Presbytery Veranda (strictly no mattresses or large furniture, nor any 2nd hand clothing or electrical items).

PLANT STALL – Donations of plants for the Plant Stall can be placed outside the Presbytery. Each family is encouraged to donate a plant.

MASSES ON FETE DAY—Due to the Fete there will be no morning Mass at 9:00am on this day.  The evening Vigil Mass will move to 7:00pm instead of 6:00pm for this day only. No morning or afternoon Reconciliation available this day.

The Fete starts at 10:00am. Please invite your family and friends to come along and join in the fun at the Fete.

Your generous assistance is what makes our Parish Fete so successful in creating and sustaining our vibrant community. Proceeds of the Parish Community Fete will assist in our Church Extension Project.
