We are also opening up the opportunity for the wider St James Community to support the residents at Sunrise by holding a community book drive. If you have any much loved books that are no longer wanted, and would be suitable, we encourage you to bring them to the St James Parish Office so we can present them to Sunrise on the day.

We ask that books be delivered to St James no later than the 16th of April so we can take them across.

Message of Thanks

fj

Thank you to all who assisted in preparing and celebrating the Holy Week and Easter Triduum especially the parish staff who continue to make a wonderful contribution to serving our community as do many generous and committed volunteers in our thriving Parish at all levels, ages and stages. I am also grateful for the leadership of the Principals of our schools and affirm the partnership we share in building community through the joy of the Gospel and maintaining a visible presence and support for faith. Gratitude goes also at this time to those who helped make the Easter Celebrations life-giving; all who participated, the Parish Council, altar servers, Carpenters Club, environment helpers both outside and inside the Church, powerpoint presentation, Music Ministry, ushers, car park attendants, counters, Youth Ministry, RCIA Team, Dawn Breakfast hospitality, those that donated items to the Dawn Breakfast, those that donated chocolates for the community, people working behind the scenes and all who have been involved.

There were many changes to our environment over the Easter Period. This is a huge effort from many parishioners we “recruit’ to assist. To those people we say “Thank you, we couldn’t manage without you.” We are always looking for new ideas to keep our liturgies vibrant, meaningful and reaching out to all.

I wish you and your families the peace and mercy of the Risen Lord this Easter.

Go gently in the crucified and risen Lord who calls us to serve with mercy,

Fr Jude Pirotta mssp

It was a busy weekend for all the YP Team Leaders as we got our bake on for our hot cross bun drive. We want to thank Eiffel Tower Cakes in Tullamarine for letting the Leaders run-a-muck in the bakery because without your support, this would not have been possible and the parish office for your administration assistance. But most importantly to everyone in the Parish, our school communities, the mssp family and the wider community for buying our hot cross buns! We were overwhelmed with your messages of thanks and financial support, it’s all very affirming and greatly appreciated. All the money raised (which totalled just over $2,850.00) will go to supporting the on-going work of the Young Paulists and 2 projects in the Philippines: the Batiawan Primary School stationary fund and the sponsorship of the new mssp noviciates in Manila. We wish you all a blessed and happy Easter!

– Sheryn, Young Paulist Coordinator on behalf of the Young Paulist Core Team
