Welcome to the St James Baptism application form.

Baptisms are held on Sundays at 12 noon in the church – dates are booked out at least 2 months in advance.

Families are required to attend a Preparation Meeting prior to the ceremony – date will be advised once your application is confirmed.

Godparents must be at least 16 years of age and have received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. At least on Godparent satisfying this criteria is required. Non Catholics may be included as witnesses to the baptism.

Following receipt of this application – further details will be sent to you.

    Godparents Information

    According to Canon Law, godparents should be at least 16 years of age, practicing Catholics and should be fully initiated into the Catholic Church – that is, they have received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation – and be living a life in harmony with the Catholic faith. One godparent, male or female, is sufficient but there may be two or more. Another person, a baptised Christian, may witness the baptism along with the Catholic godparent.
