Mother’s Day Raffle and Stall

Congratulations to the following winners of the Mother’s Day Raffle:

We sincerely thank everyone who participated by buying a ticket or supporting the Mother’s Day Stall over the last two weekends. The total amount raised from both events is $3350 with all proceeds going towards the Church Extensions Fund.

We would also like to thank those who helped make this fundraiser work – Frs Jude, Silvio and Mario, Annie Lam, Kevin Lloyd, St James Parish office staff, and all who supported us in practical ways.

Charismatic Healing Mass

Come and experience a Healing Mass by the Vincentian Congregation’s Fr Rojan at St James Church on Thurs 12 May, commencing 6.30pm with Rosary, Praise and Worship, Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, healing prayers and blessing.

St James Grief Support Ministry has been initiated to assist parishioners who are facing difficult times on account of bereavement, loneliness, loss of employment, adverse impact of COVID, etc.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday May 4th at 7 pm in the Church Narthex. The Ministry is led by Deacon Royden aiming to offer a comfortable space to share our grief and loss.

Meetings will consist of prayer, sharing, friendship, support and information. Enquiries please call Deacon Royden on 0426 071 375 .

First Friday Adoration

First Friday Adoration on Fri 07 May, with Mass at 7:30pm and Holy Hour from 8pm to 9pm. Come and spend some quiet time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament thanking him for all the graces we have received and asking Him for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit this Pentecost.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a program for any adult interested in becoming a Catholic, receiving the Sacraments or exploring the Catholic faith.

The next season of RCIA will begin with an information session on Friday 11th June at 7.00pm in the Church.

If you or anyone you know is interested, please come along to the meeting.  The invitation is also extended to any Catholics who may want to become more informed about the various aspects of our Faith.

For those in the Cleaning Ministry, there is a Cleaning Ministry Information and Safety Induction Night on Wed 14 Apr at 7:00pm in the Church. Please let Ana know of your attendance.

We are still in need of more people to assist with the vacuum cleaning.  If you would like to join our team, could you please attend this Induction Meeting with Fr Jude and Anna Sia.

We are pleased to announce a ‘Mother’s Day Raffle and Stall’ fundraising event with all proceeds going towards the church extensions.

The Raffle:

  • Four fabulous prizes each valued at around $200.
  • Tickets $5 each available from Mon 05 Apr via Trybooking (trybooking.com/BQGHD)
  • Tickets will also be on sale at the Parish Office during Office Hours, 9:30am–2:30pm. Cash preferred at this outlet.
  • Prizes will be on display at the Parish Office Foyer after Easter.
  • Ticket sales close on Sun 02 May at 8:00 pm. Raffle prizes will be drawn on Tues 04 May.

The Stall: 

Our Mother’s Day stall will be held on two consecutive weekends in the Church Narthex on:

  • 24/25 April 1:00pm–3:00pm and after each Weekend Mass, and
  • 01/02 May 1:00 pm–3:00pm and after each Weekend Mass

We have a vast variety of gifts available for mums of all ages. Come and buy Mum a gift or just treat yourself to something special and support this fundraiser. Dads, we’re counting on you too for this one!
