Please note NO weekend Masses this weekend or next weekend (30/31 Oct).

Dear Parishioners and friends of St James,

We welcome our first weekend out of Lockdown. While some restrictions remain, it is with a deep sigh of relief that we can now look forward to reuniting with loved ones and regaining some sense of normality in the weeks and months ahead.

Here at St James, we will be moving towards a gradual return to worship over the coming weeks.

Weekend Masses:

In line with government requirements, weekend Masses will resume at St James the Apostle Parish, beginning the weekend of 06/07 November for fully vaccinated people. Proof of vaccination must be shown to the COVID Marshall(s) upon arrival.

Parishioners should update “Services VIC App.” If you don’t have a smart phone, please obtain a hardcopy certificate. To assist you in this, please visit:

At this stage, we require you to book your place to attend Sunday Mass using the TryBooking facilities. Please visit https://trybooking.com/BJPOT to book. Mass times on the weekend are Saturday 5:00pm and 6:30pm, Sunday 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:30am and 5:00pm (note there is no Sun 6:30pm Mass). Bookings will open on Tuesdays before the weekend. Parishioners are asked to be considerate of others who missed out on a booking. If you were able to attend Mass the previous weekend, please wait until Thursday to book for the following week.

QR registration upon arrival is still required. Our Mass capacity for St James is 130 people due to the Density Quotient. A member of staff will return your call during Office Hours (Mon-Fri, 9:30am – 2:30pm) to assist you. Masks are required at all Masses.

Covid Marshalls will be onsite at Masses to assist you. As we learn this system together, please ensure you treat our Covid Marshalls with respect and courtesy.

Dear Parishioners,
please assist us to renew the details of all members in our Parish. In today’s world it is very important for a parish to keep updated details of all members of the Parish, many details may have changed since the last time this exercise was carried out. We notice that we have very few email addresses and mobile numbers, and often these come in handy to communicate with you. Please take time to download this census form, fill it in, and email it back to the parish office at [email protected] or drop it off at the parish letter box. Please note, it is important to fill in both pages of the card. It is very important that every household in the Parish fills in a new census form, unless you have just filled in one in 2021.
Thank you for your cooperation.

St James the Apostle was the great protector of pilgrims. In his spirit, we hope that all who venture here are made strong in faith and steadfast in hope on this pilgrim’s journey: the path of Christian life.

To James and to his other disciples, Jesus simply said, “Follow me.” This Gospel truth is strikingly simple but sometimes hard to live.

At St James the Apostle Parish, with the grace of God and through the generosity of our parishioners, all are invited to be sustained on the journey. Together, as a community, we step forward and risk the journey of faith.

Our lives are full of graced moments. Whether you are a visitor, a recent arrival to the rapidly growing area of Hoppers Crossing North, Tarneit or Truganina, or simply looking for a spiritual home, we are confident that you will find our parish to be an inspirational place where you can enrich your Christian life, and explore and grow in faith. The faith of our Parish community today is sustained through the experience of many humble and faith-filled witnesses who, through their generosity, shine a light in many different ministries as they help us feel the warmth of Jesus. The sacraments we celebrate at St James and these ministries which we offer are signs of a gracious God who never stops revealing himself.

May St James intercede for us today and help us to follow his example. Like him, may we recognize our human limitations, and thus grow in our humility and our loving trust in God who desires to do great things through us and bring us into His kingdom of love and self-giving.

May God bless us all on this day of St James as we continue to build bridges that unite us all to Christ. Happy Feast Day to all Parishioners and friends.
