First Eucharist – Jesus in the Mass

Parents – these lessons are designed to initiate discussion.  Please sit with your child and complete them together.

Lesson Eight – Jesus is with us in the Eucharist

Have you ever shone light into a prism to make a rainbow? Watch this quick video to see how this works:

Just as light passing through a prism splits into a variety of colours so, in the Mass, we see Jesus Christ present in four very particular ways. Jesus is present in the priest, the word, the people and the bread and wine changed into the Body and Blood of Jesus.

Q1:  Copy the following diagram.  Write the word “Jesus” in the beam entering the prism.  On the beams coming out the other side, write the words: Priest, Word, People, Body and Blood of Jesus.
